I just got a speeding ticket, should I go to traffic school?

The short answer to that question is.....YES!!

Over the past couple of weeks I've had a few conversations with clients regarding speeding tickets. I assumed that if given the opportunity to take traffic school to remove the ticket from their driving record, they would gladly do it. Unfortunately, both customers, for different reasons, decided not to! So as your agent it is my duty to help inform you or re-emphasize the benefits of going through with traffic school.

By the way, the 2 reasons that were given to me from my dear clients were #1) Time and #2) Defiance. Client #2 said he didn’t think he was guilty of speeding so he didn’t want to give in to the ‘system’ and go to traffic school. Unfortunately, the ‘system’ is really going to give it to him now that he’s had to pay his ticket and his insurance rates will increase for 3 years… Ouch.

The key here is realizing just how moving violations on your driving record affect your insurance premiums. Minor moving violations are surchargeable for 3 years.
